Minors: Phil Irwin K's eight in AAA debut, Andrew Lambo and Jesus Vasquez homer twice

Transactions: Justin Ennis was promoted from State College to Low A West Virginia. Gregory Polanco and Christian Marrero were each placed on the disabled list while Andrew Lambo was taken off of it.

AAA - Indianapolis Indians (76-52) - Beat the Syracuse Chiefs 6-2. Phil Irwin was solid in his AAA debut, pitching four innings and allowing two runs on five hits while striking out eight. Daniel McCutchen (6-2, 3.05 ERA) got the win after striking out five in four scoreless innings. Doug Slaten pitched a scoreless inning to close out the game. Matt Hague (.285) went 3 for 5 and drove in a run. Dallas McPherson (.253) went 1 for 5 with a triple and two RBI. Brandon Boggs (.264) went 1 for 4 and drove in two runs.

AA - Altoona Curve (59-66) - Lost to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8-3. Brandon Cumpton (11-10, 4.12 ERA) pitched five innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits and striking out three. Hunter Strickland gave up two runs on three hits in two innings. Victor Black struck out two in one scoreless inning. Lambo (.237) made a triumphant return to AA, going 2 for 4 with two solo home runs, and drove in all three of the runs for the Curve.

High A - Bradenton Marauders - (57-67) - Lost to the Jupiter Hammerheads 9-1. Eliecer Navarro (5-7, 3.20 ERA) pitched 5 1-3 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and striking out five. Matt Benedict gave up five runs (one earned) on five hits in 1 2-3 innings. Erik Turgeon pitched a scoreless inning. Josh Poytress struck out two in one scoreless inning. Mel Rojas (.252) went 2 for 4. Dan Grovatt (.260) went 2 for 3 with a double and a solo home run, his eighth of the year.

Low A - West Virginia Power (53-72) - Beat the Kannapolis Intimidators 7-1. Zack Von Rosenberg (4-5, 5.13 ERA) pitched five innings, allowing one run on seven hits and striking out four. Rinku Singh struck out three in three scoreless innings. Robert Kilcrease pitched a scoreless inning. Alen Hanson (.313) went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI. Taylor Lewis (.241) went 2 for 2 and drove in a run. Junior Sosa (.263) went 2 for 4 and drove in two runs. Eric Avila (.286) went 1 for 3 with a solo home run, his seventh of the year. Chris Lashmet (.240) went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

SS - State College Spikes (29-29) - Lost to the Auburn Doubledays 10-8. Luis Heredia pitched 3 1-3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out two. Dalton Friend struck out two in 2 2-3 innings. Pat Ludwig struck out three in two scoreless innings. Kyle Haynes (2-2, 5.03 ERA) took the loss after allowing six runs (two earned) on three hits without recording an out. Josh Smith pitched a scoreless inning. Tyler Gaffney (.301) went 3 for 3 with a double and two triples. D.J. Crumlich (.277) went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI. Jacob Stallings (.263) went 2 for 5 with a two run home run, his first of the year. Jesus Vasquez (.266) went 3 for 5 with two solo home runs, his third and fourth of the year.

GCL - GCL Pirates (33-21) - Beat the GCL Tigers 7-3. Tyler Glasnow pitched four innings of no hit ball while striking out six. Dovydas Neverauskas (1-1, 4.40 ERA) got the win despite allowing three runs on five hits in 2 2-3 innings. Jackson Lodge struck out four in 2 1-3 innings of scoreless baseball to pick up his second save. Dilson Herrera (.287) went 2 for 4 and drove in two runs. Max Moroff (.321) went 1 for 3 and drove in a run. Wyatt Mathisen (.309) went 2 for 4 and drove in a run. Jin-De Jhang (.310) went 1 for 4 and drove in a run. Elvis Escobar (.288) went 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI.
