Minors: Matt Hague homers, solid starts for Justin Wilson and Jameson Taillon

There's not going to be a Pirates recap today. I take my son over my mom's house to visit on Wednesday's and usually end up taking that time to catch up on some much needed sleep. Even if I wasn't tired, that disaster of a game yesterday probably would have put me to sleep. The one thing I will say about that game is this, I am officially worried about this team.

Transactions: Daniel Cabrera was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks. It is unknown what the return was at this point. They also signed Dallas McPherson who was in the Chicago White Sox organization earlier in the year. He'll report to Indianapolis. Jose Diaz was placed on the disabled list for Indianapolis and Jo-Jo Reyes was activated and will likely take Cabrera's spot in the rotation.

AAA - Indianapolis Indians (74-51) - Lost to the Rochester Red Wings 6-2. Justin Wilson (9-6, 3.84 ERA) pitched six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out four. The most encouraging thing out of his performance is that he only issued one walk. Daniel McCutchen allowed three runs (two earned) off of a three run home run in one inning. Jo-Jo Reyes gave up a run on two hits in one inning. Brock Holt (.367) went 2 for 3 with a double. Matt Hague (.280) went 2 for 4 with a two run home run, his third of the year.

AA - Altoona Curve (59-63) - Lost to the Portland Sea Dogs 1-0. Kris Johnson (1-2, 2.66 ERA) pitched six innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out six. Mike Colla and Victor Black each struck out two in one inning of work. Adalberto Santos (.390) went 2 for 4. Kelson Brown (.281) went 1 for 2 with a double, the only extra base hit for the Curve.

High A - Bradenton Marauders (55-66) - Lost to the Charlotte Stone Crabs 6-3 in 10 innings. Jameson Taillon pitched five innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out three. Erik Turgeon pitched two scoreless innings. Josh Poytress gave up a run on two hits in one inning. Zach Foster (1-5, 5.50 ERA) took the loss after walking two and allowing a three run home run in the tenth inning. Gustavo Nunez (.500) went 2 for 4 in the second game of his rehab assignment. Mel Rojas (.249) went 1 for 1 and drove in a run. Dan Grovatt (.259) went 1 for 2 with a two run home run, his sixth of the year.

Low A - West Virginia Power (52-70) - Beat the Greensboro Grasshoppers 7-6. Mike Jefferson pitched 4 2-3 innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out four. Joan Montero (3-0, 9.00 ERA) got the win after striking out three in 2 1-3 scoreless innings. Robert Kilcrease pitched a scoreless inning and Nathan Kilcrease did so as well to pick up his 12th save. Alen Hanson (.311) went 2 for 2 with three walks and drove in a run. Taylor Lewis (.237) went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBI. Jose Osuna (.276) went 1 for 4 and drove in a run. SS - State College Spikes (28-27) - Lost to the Jamestown Jammers 9-2. Jason Creasy (0-4, 5.08 ERA) pitched 1 2-3 innings, allowing five runs (one earned) on four hits and striking out one. He also issued three walks. Thomas Harland allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits in 2 1-3 innings. Dalton Friend and Justin Ennis each pitched a scoreless inning. Logan Pevny gave up an unearned run on two hits in three innings. D.J. Crumlich (.268) went 2 for 4 with a double.

GCL - GCL Pirates (30-21) - Beat the GCL Blue Jays 2-1. Colten Brewer pitched 2 1-3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out one. Yhonatan Herrand issued three walks but didn't give up any runs in 1 2-3 innings. Alexey Lukashevich gave up a run on two hits in 2 2-3 innings.
