Minors: "Effectively wild" outing from Gerrit Cole, Andrew Lambo his a grand slam

The Bradenton Marauders had their game against the Fort Myers Miracle postponed. The West Virginia Power and the GCL Pirates each had a scheduled off day.

Transactions/New: Erik Bedard was released by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Alex Dickerson of the Bradenton Marauders was named the Florida State League's Player of the Year.

AAA - Indianapolis Indians (83-54) - Beat the Columbus Clippers 8-5. Chris Leroux (4-0, 3.11 ERA) pitched 6 2-3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out seven. Daniel McCutchen gave up a run on three hits in 2 1-3 innings to pick up his third save. Chase d'Arnaud (.247) went 4 for 5 with a double. Brock Holt (.397) went 3 for 5 and drove in two runs. Alex Presley (.306) went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI. Dallas McPherson (.269) went 2 for 3 with a double and a two run home run, his 17th of the year, and drove in three runs total. Tony Sanchez (.228) went 1 for 4 with a solo home run, his eighth of the year. Anderson Hernandez (.263) went 1 for 4 and drove in a run.

AA - Altoona Curve (66-69) - Played a doubleheader with the Akron Aeros. They lost Game One 4-1. Gerrit Cole (3-6, 2.90 ERA) pitched 6 1-3 innings, allowing four runs (none earned) on six hits and striking out four. He also had six walks but he threw over 100 pitched in the game and it was reported on his 100th pitch, he was still throwing 99 MPH. Jeff Inman pitched 2-3 of a scoreless inning. Quincy Latimore (.256) went 1 for 2 and drove in a run. They won Game Two 7-1. Mike Colla pitched three innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out one. Jason Townsend (2-0, 0.00 ERA) got the win after pitching four scoreless innings. Drew Maggi (.224) went 2 for 4. Andrew Lambo (.239) went 1 for 3 with a grand slam, his third home run of the year. Matt Curry (.288) went 1 for 4 and drove in a run. Latimore and Kelson Brown (.273) each went 1 for 3 and drove in a run.

SS - State College Spikes (31-35) - Lost to the Auburn Doubledays 12-1. Jason Creasy (0-5, 5.84 ERA) pitched just 2-3 of an inning, allowing five runs on two hits and striking out one. Clario Perez gave up five runs on six hits in four innings. Logan Pevny gave up a run on six hits in 2 1-3 innings. Dalton Friend was the only pitcher to have a scoreless outing. Thomas Harlan gave up a solo home run in one inning of work. Jonathan Schwind (.048) drove in the only run for the Spikes.
