Minors: Colton Cain continues hot streak, Alen Hanson goes deep again

AAA - Indianapolis Indians (55-32) - Lost to the Louisville Bats 7-5. Daniel Cabrera pitched 5 1-3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out three. Duke Welker pitched 2-3 of an inning scoreless despite giving up three hits. Kris Johnson (4-1, 3.73 ERA) took the loss after three runs (two earned) on three hits in two innings. Jose Diaz pitched a scoreless inning. Tony Sanchez (.215) went 2 for 3 with a solo home run, his third in as many games. Brian Friday (.236) went 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI. Jose Tabata (.333) went 2 for 5 and drove in a run. Off the field, Yamaico Navarro was arrested for a DUI and will likely face discipline from the organization.

AA - Altoona Curve (41-43) - Beat the Reading Phillies 4-2. Tim Alderson pitched 5 2-3 scoreless innings, scattering four hits and striking out six. Nathan Baker threw 1 1-3 scoreless innings of relief. Hunter Strickland (1-0, 9.00 ERA) got the win despite giving up two runs on three hits in one inning. Victor Black pitched a scoreless frame to pick up his sixth save. Jarek Cunningham (.218) went 2 for 4 and drove in two runs. Drew Maggi (.244) went 1 for 4 and drove in a run. Oscar Tejeda (.262) and Ramon Cabrera (.240) each had a double and scored a run.

High A - Bradenton Marauders (39-46) - Beat the Palm Beach Cardinals 6-0. Colton Cain (3-5, 4.31 ERA) pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing five hits and striking out two. Jason Townsend and Quinton Miller each pitched a scoreless inning. Alex Dickerson (.294) went 2 for 3 with a double and drove in three. Elevys Gonzalez (.238) went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. Kawika Emsley-Pai (.155) went 1 for 3 and drove in a run. Justin Howard (.292) went 2 for 4. Mel Rojas (.259) went 1 for 5 with a triple.

Low A - West Virginia Power (30-55) - Lost to the Lakewood BlueClaws 11-4. Nicholas Kingham (1-6, 5.86 ERA) pitched five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and striking out five. Zachary Fuesser allowed two runs on two hits in three innings. Robert Kilcrease gave up three unearned runs on four hits in 2-3 of an inning. Chris Lashmet, the left fielder, pitched 1-3 of an inning scoreless. Alen Hanson (.330) went 4 for 5 with a two run home run, his 15th of the season. Lashmet (.244) also went 2 for 4 with a solo home run, his second of the year. Elias Diaz (.180) went 1 for 4 with a solo home run, his second of the year as well. Eric Avila (.250) went 2 for 3.

SS - State College Spikes (10-8) - Beat the Tri-City ValleyCats 2-1. Joely Rodriguez (1-0, 2.37 ERA) pitched five innings of one hit ball with one strikeout. Emmanuel De Leon gave up one run on three hits in two innings. Jordan Cooper pitched two scoreless innings to pick up his first save. Barrett Barnes (.293) went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Samuel Gonzalez (.250) went 2 for 3. Jordaneli Carvajal (.304) went 1 for 4 and drove in a run.

GCL - GCL Pirates (7-7) - Beat the GCL Braves 5-3. Axel Diaz pitched four shutout innings, allowing one hit and striking out two. He also issues three walks. Luis Campos gave up three runs on five hits in 2 2-3 innings. Roberto Espinosa (2-0, 5.14 ERA) got the win after pitching 2 1-3 scoreless innings. Edwin Espinal (.182) went 1 for 3 with a two run home run, his first of the season. Stetson Allie (.186) went 1 for 4 and drove in a run. Adalberto Santos (.304) and Wyatt Mathisen (.351) each had a double.
